Administration and Coaching Staff

Magic City Legends boasts top level coaching. Superior coaching has lead the club to many state championships and showings in regional championships. 

Executive Director

Ellen Jebens is in her first year as Executive Director for the club. She earned her USSF 'C' license in 2022 but has been coaching and working with youth for 18 years.  She grew up in Rapid City, SD and began playing soccer at age 6 for the then Rushmore Soccer Club. She played college soccer at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado. She has a B.S. in Human Performance and Wellness with a concentration in Education and a Masters Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration.

Ellen teaches physical education at Minot High School. She is the assistant varsity coach for the Minot High School girls team. She was the Recreation program Coordinator for 7 years and a head coach for the club since 2015.

Ellen has two kids, one of which plays for the club. Brig is 14 and Sawyer is 12. Ellen brings knowledge and  years of experience to the club and has a vision to make a safe and fun environment for all players to enjoy the game of soccer and help insure they fulfill their goals and find success.

Director of Competitive Programs

Mike Aldrich brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Magic City Legends, having coached college football for 27 years. During that time, he coached many All-American players and a handful of eventual professional players.

Mike was named the national AFCA Division-II Assistant Coach of the Year in 2016, the AFCA Region 5 Coach of the Year in 2010 and was also a Liberty Mutual National Coach of the Year finalist that same season.

He also has professional coaching experience, coaching the Sioux Falls Storm of the Indoor Football League (2000-2002 & 2005-2013), where he was a part of 7 championship teams.

As the Magic City Legends Director of Competitive Programs, Mike’s goal is to help the players and coaches achieve success through attitude and effort, which lead to improvement and achievement.  A culture of doing right, accountability, competitiveness and love (for your teammates, team and club) are hallmarks of Aldrich’s programs. He strives to assist in the development of players who have the desire to play at the next level (college and beyond), and feels it is important to instill the values of being a team player and well-rounded individual with a love of the game.

Aldrich, a native of Burnsville, Minn., played collegiately for St. Olaf where he holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics and social studies education. He earned his Master’s degree in kinesiology/sports management from the University of Minnesota in 1999.

Mike and his wife, Kristen, have three children Makenna, Joseph and Brianna (all actively involved in the Magic City Legends).

Recreation Programs Director

Zoe grew up in Cambridgeshire, England. She started to love soccer at the age of 6 after watching her sister play. She played for Cambridge United, Chelsea Ladies Academy, and England Colleges Team. In 2011 she moved to Minot and played for Minot State University. She also played one season at Limestone College in South Carolina.

Zoe teaches 5th grade at Longfellow elementary and has been a soccer coach for 15 years. In 2018 Zoe started running the recreational programs for MSA. She is the Recration Programs Director which oversees the rec youth and adult programs. She is also serving as a board of directors for the club. 

She is married to Cody Hodenfield and together they have two young children, Lizzie (4) and Beckett (6 months). She is excited for them to be a part of the Minot soccer community in the years to come!

Junior Legends Academy Director

Creighton Bachmeier was born and raised here in Minot. He played for Minot High School and went on to play at Jamestown University. Creighton is a physical education teacher at Bel Air Elementary. He is assistant coach for both the boys and girls Minot High teams. He has been a teacher and coach for 11 years. He is in his first year as the club Junior Legends Academy Director and also is the head coach for the U10 girls team.

His wife Mackenzie is a Speech Language Pathologist and they have two children, Benson (3) and Blake (1).

Junior Legends Academy Coordinator

Adam Daley is from Modesto, CA. He has been playing and coaching soccer his whole life. He has been coaching in Minot for the last 7 years. He has experience coaching youth, high school and college soccer. He as his USSF D license. His favorite thing about coaching is sharing his passion for the game and helping players develop a love for the game of soccer.

My name is Felix Rodriguez and I am Originally from Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico but grew up in Tampa, FL. I have played soccer since i was 9 years old and continue to play soccer as part of the Minot AFB team as their Goalkeeper. I have my grassroots license and have coached many Rec soccer teams for three years. I was also assistant coach for Jim Hill's soccer team during the 2021 season.

Jason Spain is a 25 year collegiate coach who has coaches successfully at the Junior College, NAIA, and NCAA Division 1 and 2 levels as a head coach. During that span Coach Spain has won 11 conference titles, produced 12 All-American players, 27 All-Region players and has led his teams to 10 sweet sixteen appearances.

Julia grew up in Colorado where she played soccer all throughout her childhood. She continues to play at the collegiate level for one year at Minot State University. She obtained her grassroots license in 2021 and is now an assistant coach for the Minot State Women's team. She is working towards an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education.

I was born and raised in Johnstown, PA and joined the Air Force in 1997. I was stationed in Minot, ND and have lived here since. I hold a USSF D license. I have been coaching for the Minot Soccer program for 21 years coaching both on the girls side and the boys side. I have been involved with the Minot High Boys soccer program for 8 years, 7 of those years as an assistant coach. My first season as the head coach was 2022.

Chad is married to Nichole who is a RN for Trinity Health. We have 5 children and three grand children. All of our children have been involved in the soccer program. Our children are Heather (Sadie and Lily), Matthew (Rennix), Brayden, Dylan, and Kamdyn.

Abby grew up in Kansas City where she played soccer throughout her childhood. Abby attended Shawnee Mission West High School and won 2 league titles and a 6A state championship. She also played for the Futura FC Pink Panthers. After her time in high school she went on to play for 5 seasons at William Woods in Fulton, MO. During her time there she earned three all-conference selections, National Strength and Condition All-American status, 2 NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete distinctions and a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team. She graduated with her B.S. in Business Administration with Minors in Spanish and Sports Management. She also has her Masters in Business Administration.
